Tennis is quite a popular sport when it comes to competitive person versus person or even in a 2v2 format. Although tennis is both fun to play and to watch, the digital world isn’t quite there yet to replicate the near-perfect experience of tennis gameplay. Besides that, here is my list of 9 best tennis games on a PC.
Top Spin 5
Top Spin 2k25 is coming out this summer! Now it is bold to pick it in the number one spot, but considering that Top Spin 4 holds the best tennis game title, you have to predict that the fifth game of Top Spin takes the cake. How can you not pass on version 2 of TS4? We have to wait and see but Top Spin 5 is the most promising Tennis game that we have had in the last few years. It takes the top once it comes out.
Tennis Elbow 4
One of the most realistic tennis games that it is out there. Tennis Elbow 4 has plenty of depth, awesome advanced features, and ball physics. It is one of the newer tennis games released. Tennis Elbow 4 was made in 2021 and it already supports mods which you can take advantage of and configure the game to whatever you want it to be.
AO Tennis 2
AO Tennis 2 is known to have a great career mode where you can also import community-made tournaments and games and run current Wimbledon or US Open with current-year players with the help of mods. The game also has exceptional menus and a developed navigation system. It is super player friendly and is easy to master which makes it a good go-to tennis game.
Virtua Tennis 4
Besides the hard part of making the game work in this current day and age, it is surprisingly a game that has aged well. With pleasing graphics and the World Tour playthrough which can take a level of strategy and solid gameplay, you can squeeze some good playtime of tennis from this game. Sadly the game is old now and the multiplayer is dead, besides that, there are annoying issues where you can’t skip cutscenes but, it is a playable tennis game!
Top Spin 4 (Emulated)
Top Spin 5 waiting room is here. But seriously, if you look up for the best Tennis game, Top Spin 4 is the majority answer. The game has awesome animations, great accuracy to the sport and the gameplay aligned with the deep story mode clears any other Tennis game. Sadly, this is a PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii game but if you are ambitious enough, you can make it work on PC as well.
Full Ace Tennis Simulator
Another hard-to-master Tennis game that is out there in the dark. With great ball physics, and gameplay realism. The game might suck at first, but once you get used to the mechanics and see how the game works, you will see the reasoning behind all the praise that Full Ace Tennis gets. On the other hand, the tennis simulator isn’t too graphically appealing, it also lacks commentary. Besides that, Full Ace has mod support which can liven up the missing atmosphere.
Tennis Elbow 2013
Tennis Elbow 2013 is the successor of the newer game. What makes this Tennis game so great are the physics and the mods. If you know what you are doing or if you find some great mods with good ratings, you can build an ultimate Tennis game that fits your needs. It is worth a try since it is a great game considering when it was released and the opportunity to mod it however you want makes it very compelling.
Matchpoint – Tennis Championships
Controls and realism of the main aspects of Matchpoint. The 2022 game has solid gameplay that you can have some fun in, additionally, the graphics are also amazing since it is a pretty new game. This is a pretty basic Tennis game, which might be a good point or a bad one depending on the player. It doesn’t bring too much to the table if you want something more from the game. But if you are looking for a tennis game to kick back and enjoy for a chill session then Matchpoint can be a good fit.
Tennis World Tour 2
Although TWT has a bad rep across all platforms, it is generally not a bad tennis game. It is one of those games that you need to get good at to see its flowers and how realistic this game is. Yes, the game might lack some more dev work but overall you have to give the game some time to get used to the gameplay and it is fair to say it is the most skill-requiring tennis game that is out there. Sadly the multiplayer of this game is nearly dead and after investing a good chunk of time, destroying AI can get tiresome and the game with the lack of a card system and other functionalities can become too stale.
